This is the only intermorenic lake in the Region and belongs to the territory of the two Municipalities of Ragogna and San Daniele del Friuli. It has been included in the list of S.I.C - Sites of Community Importance - thanks to its naturalistic peculiarities (it is the only site in the north-east where the water chestnut can be found).
It has an extension of 23 hectares and a maximum depth of about 10 meters. The water supplies of the lake come from the mount of Ragogna and, in periods of drought, from the Repudio stream which, thanks to a hydraulic work, allows the maintenance of the lamination level of the water mirror.
Located along the route of some species of migratory birds, it proves to be a suitable area for bird watching.
Here also live several species of dragonflies and fish.
