Rediscovery of the ancient pilgrimage routes between Carinthia and Friuli Venezia Giulia: The art of the journey.

The project was born from the idea of rediscovering and enhancing the ancient pilgrimage routes that cross Friuli Venezia Giulia and Carinthia.

The paths are above all a heritage belonging to the territories crossed, on which the ancient routes make usable the architectural, cultural and natural elements that distinguish them and make them unique.
The paths are a place of meeting, discovery and exchange, made unique by those who walk them and by those who live them.
WalkArt is a social and cultural project, it's an inclusive project as it also includes paths for the disabled.
It is a sustainable project that involves the establishment of networks of relations and sustainable travel that produce well-being for the entire community.

WalkArt's focus is to magnify and enhance the territories through close collaboration and involvement of local associations and administrations, operators in the tourism and hospitality sector, citizens and enthusiasts.

The beneficiaries involved in the project, launched in 2017 and which will end in July 2019, are:
  • Comunità Collinare del Friuli: Consortium made up of 15 local authorities with the aim of ensuring the management in an associated and organic form of certain public services and functions. Takes overall responsibility and coordination of the project.
  • PromoTurismoFVG: Regional tourism promotion body.
  • RM Regional Management Kärnten Mitte: Tourism development agency in Carinthia.
