The early evidence of the existence of the church, dedicated to St. Mary of the Assumption, built on the place where the Madonna appeared, dates back to 1305. The current building, rebuilt on the still visible remains of the 16th century church after the earthquake of 1976, preserves a marble altar built in Baroque style and a polychrome altarpiece depicting the Madonna of the Rosary from the 14th century
